Champions of Respect Awards

Why Respect?

Respect has become a 21st century word which goes to the very heart of human relationships. For many people today the word Respect could be a paraphrase of Jesus’ words “do to others as you would have them do to you”.

When it comes to respect we believe young people can be an example to our nation. We believe the way we live can help put respect back into the heart of our communities - relationships between young and old, black and white, male and female, teachers and students?

In 2005 the Rev Joel Edwards, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance, spoke to The War Cry about the need for respect to be more prominent in society. The War Cry  also invited a number of people to expand on these values and consider their place in society.
