Champions of Respect Awards

The 2006 Champions of Respect Awards

“The Champions of Respect Awards show that there is an army of young Christians out there loving their communities in Jesus’ name.”
Martin Smith, Delirious?

Nominations for the Champions of Respect Awards are now closed.

We have been looking for young people who have undertaken unpaid voluntary work in which they have demonstrated respect for others and contributed to their communities in the United Kingdom or abroad sometime between 1 September 2005 and 30 September 2006.

Anthony WalkerWe will be presenting two awards, for young people aged 10 to 16 and 17 to 25. Each Champion will be presented with a cheque for £250 for themselves plus £250 to a charity or good cause of their choice. The overall winner will also receive the Anthony Walker Memorial Prize.

In addition, the winners will be featured in the Evangelical Alliance’s idea magazine and through various other media – they may even get the chance of appearing on TV and radio!

Our panel of judges will select a winner and runner-up in each age group who will be invited to the award ceremony, which takes place on 15 November 2006 as part of the Evangelical Alliance’s annual Temple Address in central London. At this prestigious event, the awards will be presented by our keynote speaker, Trevor Phillips, Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality.
