2005 NominationsThe Champions of Respect Awards were launched in 2005 and presented at the Evangelical Alliance’s Temple Address event in London. The standard of nominations was extremely high, and here we showcase some of the winning entries and shortlisted nominations. Gemma Gibson, London Gemma, 24, who runs a radio station for girls which concentrates on positive attitudes, was the 2005 winner of the 17 to 25 age category and was also awarded the Anthony Walker Memorial Prize. Abbi Morrall, Hinkley Abbi, 13, was the winner of the 11 to 16 age category in 2005. An anti-bullying campaigner she was nominated by her drama teacher and Youth for Christ worker Nigel Roberts. Ade Olayinka, London Ade, 22, was shortlisted in the 17 to 25 age category for his work with young people, mentoring them and training them in football. Encounter Youth Group, Salisbury This group of young people were shortlisted for the 11 to 16 award.
